Skype has once again updated its Android application, allowing even more users to join the video conversation while on the go. Version 2.5 adds support for 14 new devices, including Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, HTC Nexus One, HTC Shooter, Sony Ericsson Xperia Live with Walkman, Sony Ericsson Xperia neo V, LG Optimus Black, LG Optimus 3D, LG Optimus 2x, Motorola Photon, Motorola Droid 3, Motorola Bionic, Motorola Xoom, Motorola Atrix and Acer Iconia.
But that’s not all – this release also comes with landscape video calls support, ability to double-tap to zoom, improved support for Bluetooth headsets, ability to edit and delete IM messages, and a revised Recent view, where conversations are now grouped around contacts. What’s more, users who don’t have Skype Credit, a Calling or Skype Premium subscription will now see ads. This is Skype’s way of telling you to pay for the usage or “face consequences.”
Skype for Android remains a free download, and if you still don’t have it running on your smartphone or tablet, now’s the time to grab it.
